Instrumentation and observation

In line with ambition 3 of the Sustainable Development & Social and Environmental Responsibility (SD&SER) of the Rouen Normandie University (URN), the Research division, in partnership with the university's research units and local authorities (Métropole Rouen Normandie (MRN), Le Havre, Communauté d'Agglomération Seine-Eure (CASE), Mantes-la-Jolie, Communauté d'Agglomération Cergy-Pontoise (CACP), Argenteuil), the deployment and data analysis of a network of meteorological sensors needed to monitor phenomena exacerbated by climate change, such as urban heat islands (UHI), drought and vegetation sensitivity to fire in the Seine Valley.

In the spirit of open science, the data and their synthetic analyses will soon be available for viewing and downloading, both on the Centre d’Expertise Scientifique sur le Multirisques (CESM) and on the MRN’s open data portal.

The network of weather stations in the Seine Valley

The network of weather stations provides continuous measurements of air temperature and other variables useful for studying intra-urban climate (solar radiation, humidity, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, wind force and direction).
