A label in recognition of a pioneering commitment
For over ten years, the University of Rouen Normandie has been making structuring commitments to environmental and societal transitions, and its actions were recognized by the award of the DD&RS (Développement durable et responsabilité sociétale – sustainable development and social responsability) label in 2020. In France, only 11 universities have been awarded this label. URN was one of the first.
The DD&RS label recognizes the commitment of higher education and research establishments to sustainable development and social responsibility, based on a common reference framework (Référentiel DD&RS CPU CGE) covering the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined at international level. The label is structured around five areas: Strategy & Governance, Teaching & Training, Research & Innovation, Environment & Social Policy.
Obtained in September 2020, this label encourages the establishment to pursue this ambitious dynamic. Since October 2025, the University of Rouen Normandie has been one of the first French establishments to obtain the renewal of this label for a further four years, attesting to the continuity of the establishment’s policy in terms of transitions.
