10 hours of core curriculum in first year

Since 2022, a compulsory 10-hour lecture module on sustainable development and social responsibility has been offered to L1 and BUT1 students. It addresses climate, resources and biodiversity issues, and explores new socio-economic models and environmental humanities.
The MOOC des Possibles: localizing the socio-ecological transition in 2nd year
Since January 2025, the Mooc des Possibles, an 8-hour e-learning course combining videos, articles and teaching activities, has been offered to all L2 students. It explores four themes: climate change, the erosion of biodiversity, the finiteness of natural resources and just and equitable transition, through the prism of the local: what are the causes, consequences and preservation actions in Normandy?
12 hours between disciplines and cross-disciplines in 2nd year
The Mooc des Possibles is complemented by 12 hours of lectures. For some bachelor’s degrees, these hours are an opportunity to delve deeper into the link between socio-ecological transition and their discipline, and for other bachelor’s degrees, a chance to build bridges between disciplines on these themes.

Objective: 50 hours of core curriculum for bachelor’s degrees
As part of its DD&RSE master plan and TRANSITION project, URN is committed to achieving 50 hours of training in ecological transition for sustainable development (TEDS) for all 1st cycle students. The remaining 20 hours in L3 will provide an opportunity to enhance existing disciplinary teaching on these themes, and to offer students the chance to carry out projects outside the classroom.
