Training for the TRANSITION project

The TRANSITION project (ANR-23-EXES-0013) has five general objectives:

  • To become a reference site in France for acculturation, training and research on ecological transition (ET), sustainable development (SD) and risk culture.
  • Strengthen research into multiple risks (environmental, industrial, health, economic and societal), with a focus on climate change.
  • Develop a shared vision of the issues at stake between project partners (URN, INSA, ENSAN, CHU, CNRS) and socio-economic players.
  • Train for the professions of tomorrow and support the development of existing professions to meet the challenges of the transition.
  • Disseminate and share experiences and actions on a national and European scale (INGENIUM and ECIU alliances).

With regard to training, first of all, the project aims to strengthen the range of training courses for students on the socio-ecological transition. Over the course of the bachelor’s degree cycle, the project provides for the introduction of 50 hours dedicated to the ecological transition for sustainable development (TEDS) (10h in L1, 20h in L2, 20h in L3). These hours will earn 5 ECTS credits.

In the master’s cycle, a graduate school will be set up to provide training in multirisk management and prepare future PhD students for transdisciplinary approaches. Certification is also planned for doctoral students taking TEDS-related courses.

In addition to training, TRANSITION aims to establish recognition of student commitment to the challenges of socio-ecological transition.

For teachers, researchers and staff, training courses are also planned as part of ongoing training.

Last but not least, a pedagogical resource center has been created as part of the project: Re_Source.

In operational terms, the team mobilized for these actions is part of the T.URN Institute’s Training Department.
