Student training : Preparing for the challenges of today and tomorrow

The University of Rouen Normandie integrates the challenges of environmental and societal transitions into all its courses, from undergraduate to doctoral level. These courses are designed to provide students with common reference points, analytical tools and an understanding of the interactions between their discipline, the environment, the economy and society.

The aim is to train graduates capable of analyzing current transformations and actively contributing to changes in their sectors and territories.

Staff training: Helping the entire university community to take ownership of these issues

As part of its staff training program, the Institute offers sessions dedicated to environmental and societal transitions for teachers, lecturers and administrative staff.

These actions are complemented by specific training modules for trainers, to provide teachers with the pedagogical guidelines and tools they need to integrate these issues into their teaching.

Working groups bringing together teachers, educational engineers and support services have also been set up to examine changes in practices, experiment with new forms of teaching and adapt content to ongoing transformations. These forums encourage the sharing of experience and collective reflection.

Supporting teachers : Equipping trainers

Through the creation of an educational resource center, the design of serious games and the organization of collective intelligence workshops, the Institute provides teachers with tools and aids that can be used in teaching about environmental and societal transitions.

This approach aims to develop teaching practices by integrating active, cross-disciplinary approaches, in order to develop students’ skills in sustainability, analysis and capacity for action in the face of environmental challenges.
